Day 6: March 22, 2016
We started the day with a Paris sightseeing tour. We first went to Bastille square to pick up our local guide. We drove from the right bank to the left bank to have one more view on Notre Dame and the Latin quarter and drove to the beautiful Opera house. From there we went to place Vendome where all the big jewelry are located as well as the Ritz hotel. We saw Concorde square and The Champs Elysées and went to have a look at Invalides Chapel, the tomb of Napoléon. From there we went to have a look at the Eiffel tower and went back to the right bank for an other view from Trocadéro. We gave the students some time to buy lunch and went back on the coach for a 20 minutes ride to Versailles. The Palace courtyard was extremely busy but the line went pretty fast. The students where very interested and impressed with the building. They had some free time to buy souvenirs and to take a look at the Royal gardens. Back to Paris we went back to the Opéra house where the coach dropped us.We went to visit Fragonard Parfum muséum before dinner at a creperie restaurant. After dinner we went to Montmartre to look at the Basilica of Sacré Coeur and walked around the tiny streets of Montmartre where many streets artist work.
We are very concerned about the terrorist attack that hit Brussel this morning, security here is even bigger than what we are use to see in Paris since last November. We talked to the students about what happen and they are fine. I sincerely hope parents dont worry too much. We will make sure your kids go back home safe on Thursday.
